PTC offers some kind of certification for Creo which requires some basic knowledge about 3D parametric modeling and it is a common practice in other schools that the students take it before graduation. I think it is more than great for educational purposes (we will use it for creating 3D printable or CNC millable models).īut here comes a small problem. I had some experience with it previously and I'm very pleased with it.
It is platform independent, completely open source, it runs well even on a low-end hardware, it has many built in features, it is easily extensible and it has a fairly simple, easy to learn user interface. This (and because I'm an open source enthusiast) is why I'd like to use an other software and my choice became FreeCAD.
